Listening Skills
Good listening skill is a very crucial quality. Often the designs are supposed to be as per your design brief and its why good listening skills come into play. It doesn’t matter how good a building designer is, if they don’t have excellent comprehension skills, it’s highly likely they won’t deliver everything as you had anticipated for.
Buildability Expertise
A good building designer that you work with should have an excellent understanding of how to build your home. Understanding buildability means that a building designer understands items such as orientation, form and function of design, structural capability and good building practice.
Knowledge of Building Regulators and National Construction Code (NCC)

Max’s passion for helping families achieve their vision in creating a family sanctuary enables his approach to people, building design and the environment as interconnected entities reinforcing the idea that a well-designed building which has been carefully considered will suit its site environmentally and socially both in form and function.
Commencing a career as an architectural draftsperson, Max has worked in the construction industry for over 25 years including operating his own building company focusing on residential projects.
In a career evolution, Max attained a Diploma of Building Design, Diploma of Project Management, Diploma of Building & Construction, and a Diploma of Management and was employed as the head building designer with some of the national leading builders. This knowledge has provided Max with extensive experience in delivering a wide range of successful projects both here in Victoria and Interstate.
Max’s wealth of experience as both in building design and construction provides the practice of Ausplan Design Group with a unique service in building design.
